Joint exhibition of Kazimierz Kordas, painter from Gdynia and David Folley, artist from Plymouth in September 1996 in the City Gallery View Point in Plymouth. The exhibition in Plymouth was preceded by the visit of David Folley in Gdynia on 28.04-04.05.96. The aim of the stay in Gdynia was to get acquainted with the city, its culture and history. The result of the visit was a series of paintings about Gdynia.Exhibition "4 x K" in Kiel City Hall (23.01-20.02.1997). The exhibition was organised by the Friends of Fine Arts Association in Gdynia in co-operation with Gdynia City Hall. Within the "European Meetings of Artists" four artists from Gdynia (Kazimierz Kalkowski, Jerzy Kamrowski, Kazimierz Kordas, Wojciech Kostiuk) presented their works made in different techniques: drawings, paintings, graphics and ceramics.Exhibition "The old discovered anew - Tatczëzna" in the ethnographic Park in Molfsee, near Kiel (18.06-20.07.97). The exhibiton presented the Kashubian culture. The organisers were the City Museum of Gdynia in co-operation with Gdynia and Kiel City Halls.Exhibition "mmhhh! - Borschtsch" in the Gdynia "Gallery 78" (17.04-17.05.1998). The exhibition was organised by the City Halls of Kiel and Gdynia. In the gallery there were shown the works of three sculptors from Kiel (Germany): Tobias Regensburger, Thomas Karp and Volker Tiemann. The exhibits were mainly installations and other works connected with spatial and conceptual art.Photographic exhibition "Śmierzchalscy - three generations", Kiel City Hall (11-23.10.2000). The exhibition was prepared on the occasion of 15th anniversary of co-operation between sister cities Gdynia and Kiel. The Śmierzchalski family has been living in Gdynia for three generations and they have been working there - documenting the history and the life of the city. First photos taken by the family's senior show Gdynia before the Second World War. Later works present the time of the occupation and the war destruction - all until present day. Both his son and his grandson continue his passion. During the exhibition there were presented photos of Gdynia before and after war, artistic photos and computer graphics taken by the representatives of the three generations of Śmierzchalski family: the grandfather, the father and the son.Photographic exhibition "Gdynia as seen by three generations of photographers", Plymouth, May 2001. It was organised on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of cooperation between sister cities of Plymouth and Gdynia.Photographic exhibition "25th anniversary of Gdynia-Plymouth co-operation", "Ratusz" Gallery in Gdynia, September 2001. The exhibition was divided into two parts. The first part included historic pictures of co-operation with Plymouth and the contemporary photos showing Plymouth and its inhabitants, taken by the Śmierzchalski family during their stay in that city in May 2001. The second part of the exhibition showed pictures of Gdynia and its inhabitants, as well as artistic photographs and computer graphics prepared by the Śmierzchalski family.Exhibition "Human circus", "Debiut" Gallery in Gdynia (27-28.05.2002) by Leo Ray Eriksen, the famous Danish artist. It was held within the cooperation between Gdynia and its sister city Aalborg (Denmark). The main theme of the exhibition "Human Circus" was the contemporary man, his problems and fears. It consisted of 7 video films resembling the present-day video clips or commercials. During the exhibition computer graphics and educational compact discs were also displayed. The city in the artist's eyes", Exhibition Hall of the Museum of the City of Gdynia located in the "Gemini" Centre (1-27.06.2003). The subject of works presented by the artist Marko Köppe was his hometown - Kiel. Mr. Köppe showed Kiel through expressionist transformation of his own photographs, which was done in an unconventional and abstract way with the use of digital technology.Ceramic sculpture exhibition of a Gdynia artist Kazimierz Kalkowski at the turn of July and August 2003 in SeattleExhibition "August strikes", "Ratusz" Gallery in Gdynia (11.08-05.09.2005). There were presented, i.a. strike bulletins, photos and cuttings of local newspapers from the period of strikes in the Tri-City, as well as leaflets, post stamps and books published in the underground printing. Other elements of the exhibition were charts devoted to the building of the monument "To the December 1970 victims", to the marathon of the first "Solidarność", which took place in 1981, as well as photos from the first exhibition about "Solidarność". A separate part of the exhibition consisted of documents, photos and press articles sent by twin cities of Gdynia: Seattle (USA), Plymouth (United Kingdom), Kiel (Germany) and Kristiansand (Norway). The received materials included information about support which we were given in the 80's by our friends from the twin cities. Press articles presented commentary of the foreign press on the events in Poland in that period.Exhibitions on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the twinning link between Gdynia and Kiel:exhibition of Gdynia photographers, Marzena and Maurycy Śmierzchalski, entitled "Kiel from a Gdynia perspective" in "Ratusz" Gallery (18.04-20.05.2005). In the exhibition there were presented photos taken by Gdynia photographers during their stay in Kiel. The photos constituted a record of impressions of the city itself, its architecture and numerous events. There were also presented photos featuring exchanges of citizens of Gdynia and Kiel and official contacts between the cities.exhibition entitled „Schönes Gdynia - eine Partnerstadt stellt sich vor" (Beautiful Gdynia - presentation of a twin city) in Kiel City Hall (17.06-18.07.2005). The exhibition of photos taken by Sławomir Kitowski was prepared by the Gdynia City Museum in cooperation with City Halls of Gdynia and Kiel.exhibition entitled "Gdynia - die Geschichte einer Partnerstadt" (Gdynia - history of a twin city) in Kiel City Hall (9-25.09.2005). The exhibition was made up of printed charts containing photos and descriptions presenting a short history of Gdynia from 19th century to the present day.exhibition entitled "Miniaturen der Webkunst" (Weaving miniatures) in Kiel City Hall (9-25.09.2005). During the exhibition there were presented works of the artists taking part in the International Baltic Triennale of Weaving Miniature in Gdynia in the years 2001-2004.exhibition entitled "Drei Dimensionen" (Three dimensions) in Kiel gallery "Hof Akkerboom" (10.09-09.10.2005). The exhibition consisted of the works of the contemporary Gdynia artists: Janusz Osicki (painting), Aleksander Widyński (printed fabric) and Dąbrówka Tyślewicz (sculpture and ceramics).The three above-mentioned Gdynia exhibitions organized in Kiel in September/October 2005 took place within a project, entitled "Gdynia in Kiel" prepared by Gdynia City Museum in cooperation with Kiel City Hall and Gdynia City Hall. This project was subsidized by Polish-German Cooperation Foundation in Warsaw.Exhibition of the Euroregion Baltic "From the sea we are" in the "Ratusz" Gallery in Gdynia (3-14.10.2005). The competition was addressed to school children and youth and had already been held for the 21st time. Its aim was to stimulate and shape esthetic sensitivity in the educational process of young people. Six years ago, establishing the cooperation with the Association of Polish Communes of Euroregion Baltic gave the competition its international status, involving the states of the Baltic Sea Region.Over 2000 entries were sent to the 2005 edition of the competition, from among which 192 entries were selected for the main post-competition exhibition in Poland and 102 entries for the exhibitions in Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark and Kaliningrad Region. The honoured authors and their teachers were awarded the equivalent Grand Prix Award in the form of a participation in the art workshops, entitled "The Cleanness of the Baltic is the Beauty of the World", on the seaside location, organized by the Youth Community Centre in Elbląg.Klaipeda photographic exhibition in the "Ratusz" Gallery in Gdynia (21.09-11.10.2006). During the exhibition there were shown the works of Klaipeda photographers: Algimantas Kalvaitis, Algirdas Darongauskas and Aleksandras Katkovas. In their works they recorded the images of the old city and surrounding of Klaipeda.Exhibition entitled "Klaipeda Art 2006" in the Exhibition Hall of the Museum of the City of Gdynia in the "Gemini" Centre (27.11-26.12.2006). It was an artistic project of the Union of Lithuanian Visual Artists, Branch in Klaipeda. Representatives of different artistic fields took part in it. The main assumption of the project was to take a new look at the artistic work of the contemporary Klaipeda region artists within a joint undertaking. The exhibition presented the newest works of Klaipeda artists.Photographic exhibition entitled „Unseen Lithuania” (28.01 – 22.02.2009) in the Museum of the City of Gdynia – the exposition consisted of over 50 large-size photographs taken from different six air vehicles by Marius Jovaisa, a Lithuanian traveler, photographer and entrepreneur. The author of photos decided to show beauty of the Lithuanian landscape to the world. Jovaisa used a very original form of presentation – air photographs. In order to take the photos he had to rise 51 times in the air, having used different means of the air transport (among others the Polish plane Wilga, balloon, helicopter), he spent nearly 90 hours in the air. During the flights he took almost twenty thousand photos. The result of his efforts was not only the exhibition, but also an album with 250 photos presenting the beauty of the Lithuanian landscape. Thanks to the air view the well known places could be seen in a new, interesting way. Photographic exhibition entitled “Gdynia impressions” (17.06-27.06.2010) in the Kiel City Hall. The works of Gdynia photographer Marek Pęgowski and Kiel photographer Peter Lühr were presented at the exhibition.
